The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment. Employers of all sizes can apply for funding and Purpol founder Denise O’Leary seized the opportunity to provide 50 placements for her innovative remote Digital Marketing Internship Scheme when it launched in November 2020.

Denise Commented – “We had such amazing feedback from the first cohort that we are delighted to be running the scheme again for a 4th cohort so even more young people can benefit. We expect to launch the next programme on 29/11/21”.

Having already successfully run 113 Kickstart placements in 2020 -21, and secured many job roles for young people, Purpol Marketing are delighted to be recruiting these additional placements into our remote Digital Marketing placement roles.

Our Digital Marketing Assistant roles, which are fully remote, build experience in many aspects of marketing from marketing strategy and social media, websites and SEO. They develop skills such as market research, creating graphics, writing whitepapers and blogs as well as how to generate PR and win bids. We also teach about visual marketing, the impact of colour and shape on branding and why ‘tone of voice’ is so important in marketing messaging.

We also cover career development and broader entrepreneurship skills – this placement is ideal for anyone with an interest in business or wanting to start their own business.

Kickstart students get access to £1000+ of Purpol Marketing’s online courses including Magnificent Marketing, Digitally Marketing for Recovery, and ‘How to build and Online Course’. They are also taught bid writing with ‘The Better Way to Bid’ and ‘How to Win Grants’ as well as numerous webinars and guest speakers on subjects such as Business Psychology, PR, Graphic Design, Website Building and SEO.

During the placement we direct to content developed by Enterprise Nation, Small Business Britain, and BT Digital Skills. We also allow 40 hours to complete the Google Digital Garage online Digital Marketing course which leads to an independent certificate.

On top of this, the new intake get to benefit from a project previously developed by our Kickstarters – the unique ‘Kickstart my Career’ online course. Career development is fully supported with focused webinars and mentoring.

Whilst each person gets to do individual projects, we also place an emphasis on teamwork – each person is allocated into a group and will get the chance to be a team leader on a project, developing confidence and leadership skills during the programme.

All we ask for is enthusiasm and an interest in Business – you will need a computer with Wi-Fi access, and we will provide all other materials including your own Purpol Marketing email address and access to Office 365 with Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
