Week 10 at Purpol

Today is the end of my tenth week here at Purpol Marketing. I can’t believe how fast it has gone by! This week has been a busy week like most. But this is a good thing; I really enjoy being busy and working in a fast paced environment. I have been working on various different projects this week, some for the first time; it’s nice to change your work up. Purpol and Denise have had a great week this week, as we have become finalists for many different awards, in the Bristol Post and Bath Chronicle Woman of the Year Awards sponsored by the University of the West of England. Denise is thrilled as she studied both her Bachelors and Masters degrees at UWE! Our nominations as finalist include:

• Mentor of the Year

• Award for Innovation

• Home based business of the Year

• Business of the Year

This is absolutely brilliant news for Purpol and an excellent start to the year. As a Bath Spa graduate, I love that we are able to make a difference in the local area, especially in terms of recruitment of interns!

In terms of work for me, I have been busy generating new infographics for our latest e-book that is in production at the moment. The end is close, it’s just a few little tweaks here and there before it can be approved but it is well on its way. We have also had some lovely feedback from our event we ran last week, so I have been creating testimonial graphics from these to add in the book and our professional profile.

As well as designing graphics this week, I have also begun writing some whitepapers. This is the first time that I have done this, and I did enjoy it. I was researching, gathering up all my information and writing a very detailed persuasive report based on what I found out. These white papers were based on creating a professional business page for Facebook, how to utilise SEO, and I am currently working on pay per click advertising.

Next week is the Wiltshire Business Awards meet the judge’s event. Gavin and I are off to this event on the 23rd and on the same night, Denise is going to the Chippenham Business awards too. This will provide a great opportunity to meet other Wiltshire businesses and have a chance to explain to the judges what it means to be an intern and soon to be new employee working for a great local business. So a very busy week again next week. But that’s what we like here at Purpol! I’m looking forward to getting stuck in with the projects that we are working on at the moment. Here’s to another great week!
