Chippenham’s Pink and Purpol win award for combined sales and marketing expertise

Pink and Purpol, the well-known duo of female entrepreneurs based in Chippenham took home the award for Business Service Provider of the Year at the Chippenham Business Awards, held on Feb 23rd.

Pink is Alison Edgar, Managing Director of Sales Coaching Solutions and known as The Entrepreneur’s Godmother and Purpol is Denise O’Leary, Managing Director of Purpol Marketing. They teamed up at this year’s Chippenham Business Awards and entered with combined expertise as two Chippenham based business owners with in-depth knowledge that support other local businesses.

Denise and Alison have a long standing strategic partnership and friendship, and encourage collaboration with their clients. They decided to enter the awards as a team instead of facing off against each other for their individual expertise. The pair proved a force to be reckoned with and were delighted to end the night triumphant as Business Service Provider of the Year. The event recognised other fantastic Chippenham businesses that were acclaimed as finalists as well as those judged as eventual winners.

As the Managing Director of Sales Coaching Solutions, Alison works with small businesses across the South West to teach them the fundamentals of sales, enabling them to increase sales and grow. The other side to her business is The Entrepreneur’s Godmother, a new brand which Alison launched in 2016. Through her new brand, Alison works with start-ups, micros and owner managed-businesses passing on the sales techniques she learned from 20 year experience in blue-chip sales. To make training more accessible and affordable for smaller business, Alison launcher her Easy Peasy Sales workshops and online sales course.

Denise founded Purpol Marketing in March 2014 as a specialist agency that helps small and medium sized businesses with their marketing strategy on a pay-as-you-go basis. Purpol provide director level expertise and have a specialism in bid writing – helping clients win bids with a current 95% success rate against an industry average of 60-65%. Purpol has continued growth and expansion into 2017, enabling their clients to win contracts that were previously out of reach including a £600m NHS Construction framework and a £700m modular build framework as well as equally significant but smaller value contracts for local companies. Denise and the Purpol team provide bespoke marketing consultancy, export mentoring and international audits via Skype alongside the traditional marketing disciplines.

When asked about the Chippenham Business Awards, Alison said “It’s an honour to be jointly named Business Service Provider of the Year at the Chippenham Business Awards, it’s my local awards which makes it even more special. Not only that but I get to share the honour with my Purpol pal and strategic partner, Denise”
