My Week at Purpol – Work experience review from Lydia Jones

This week I completed a week of work experience at Purpol Marketing. I spent some of the week working from home and completing tasks and the rest of the week working with Denise an going to meetings.

On Monday I completed the Magnificent Marketing course which helped to give me a real insight into marketing and build on my knowledge about the subject that I have learnt through doing my AS levels. Whilst completing the course I made notes, so I could talk about the course at the meeting that I attended on Tuesday with some of the Purpol team including Denise and Gavin.

On Wednesday I completed the Better way to Bid course. This course really gave me an in depth look at what bid writing is like which is something that I haven’t really thought about before. I spent Thursday working with Denise where I helped to input business card data into a spreadsheet and I also attended a meeting with a graphic designer, which I found really fascinating to see what she did.

Finally, on Friday I inputted more business card data into the spread sheet.

Overall, I have really enjoyed my work experience week and I can’t believe quite how fast it has gone. During the week I got to see what the real world of work is like and how fast pace the business moves.
