2nd month on Kickstart by Nicky Leathard

Firstly, at the beginning of the month I was graciously invited to the online International Business Awards. This awards ceremony was amazing attend and have a glimpse into how they work, and more importantly, all the fantastic businesses that got recognised for all their hard work. Notably, Denise became a Gold Stevie Winner for her 2020 book ‘WINNER: How to Win Business Awards’, which I have had the pleasure of reading. A wonderful achievement! Also, a huge congratulations to the whole Purpol marketing team for being voted as one of the winners of the 2020 People’s Choice Stevie Awards – I feel proud to be a small part of it!

Amongst a variety of more fascinating webinars from BT and the SW Growth hub, this last month we also began working in small groups to form initial ideas of how to structure our upcoming online course created by kickstarters, for kickstarters- with the goal to guide people aged 16-25 through the job process. This was very enjoyable to do and I loved working with the others in my team to come up with an initial idea. At the end of the month, all the 10 different groups presented their ideas with their proposed structures, and everyone did such a good job so I’m excited to see how this will develop into a fully-fledged course!

This month we were also given the opportunity to have three days of Excel spreadsheet training from Lynsey at Skills Ladder which I found extremely useful and interesting as I had very little prior guidance on this area. I even ended up giving myself extra homework on the areas because I enjoyed the initial training so much!

Additionally, I have now written my second whitepaper, this time on marketing challenges to consider in 2021, and I chose to focus on digital marketing in particular. This has been fascinating to research and develop my understanding on and as usual Denise has been a great help in finding resources when I was struggling.

Overall, another great month at Purpol Marketing and I look forward to the upcoming assignments ahead!
