Denise O’Leary MBE named as one of the Inspirational Business Women in STEM & Construction 2025.

We are thrilled to announce that our founder, Denise O’Leary MBE, has been honoured as one of the Inspirational Business Women in STEM & Construction 2025.

This prestigious recognition celebrates women who have made significant contributions to the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), and Construction, serving as role models and challenging the status quo in traditionally male-dominated industries.

In 2014, Denise founded Purpol Marketing, a home-based business offering brand, marketing, and bid strategy consultancy, specialising in the manufacturing and construction sectors. Her commitment to excellence is evident through her impressive 92%+ win rate in bid writing, securing over £4 billion in opportunities to date. Denise’s expertise has not only propelled Purpol Marketing to success but has also empowered numerous businesses to achieve their goals.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Denise was awarded an MBE in the 2022 New Year’s Honours List for services to the construction sector and entrepreneurs. Her dedication to mentoring the next generation is reflected in her provision of over 300 internships and work placements, as well as her extensive mentoring efforts, particularly focusing on women in construction.

Denise was privileged to be part of the event at the House of Lords in celebration of International Women’s Day 2025. Dr Roni Savage CEO JOMAS Associates was Co-hosting alongside Baroness Sandy Verma, the night was a magical celebration of trailblazing businesswomen in STEM and Construction, passionate young ambassadors (18–30), and supportive male allies.

The room was alive with energy as women who fearlessly challenge the status quo were honoured. The event served as a powerful reminder to the next generation that any limiting barrier can indeed be broken. With an inspiring panel discussion led by Michael Cook, featuring esteemed figures such as Jacqueline O’Donovan OBE, Julie White, Zoe (Yiting) Lu, and Professor Priti Parikh CEng FICE, the call to action was clear: “Don’t let imposter syndrome or fear hold you back – Just do it!”

Award presentations were made even more special by the presence of distinguished guests such as Lalita Taylor FRSA (BBC), Peaches Golding OBE CStJ (Lord Lieutenant representing HM The King), and Tim Balcon (CEO of CITB). It was an evening of celebration, reflection, and renewed commitment o mentoring and supporting young ambassadors in the industry.
