NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards Shortlist Purpol Marketing founder Denise O’Leary as #GoDo Entrepreneur of the Year

The NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Award finalists have been revealed, and Purpol Marketing have reason to celebrate! Despite there being some serious competition, with over 1000 entrants, Purpol’s founder Denise O’Leary has been selected as a finalist for the ‘#GoDo Entrepreneur of the Year’ category. This award is the icing on the cake this month for Denise, who has also received the news that she has been chosen as a Keynote Speaker at The Big Five, International Building and Construction Show in Dubai in November.

Denise founded Purpol Marketing in 2014 to provide specialised consultancy for marketing strategy and tender bid management specifically to SMEs with a key focus on the construction and manufacturing sector.

When asked about her recent success Denise said: ‘To be shortlisted by the prestigious NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards is so exciting, especially in the highly contested ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ category and then to hear that I have been selected from a huge international pool of applicants for The Big 5 to speak about how to win construction bids is just incredible – it is such an achievement for Purpol Marketing that our expertise is now internationally recognised! It is such an honor to have been picked out of such strong competition for both these important accolades.’

Event Manager of the GBEA awards, Adam Stacey praised the success of Purpol Marketing saying: ‘We’ve been overwhelmed with the quality of entries received this year so you should be very proud, you’ve already beaten off some very, very stiff competition.’

Now in its fifth year, the NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards has celebrated some amazing entrepreneurs over the years, many of whom are now household names. Past winners include David Buttress of Just Eat, Julie Deane of The Cambridge Satchel Company, James Watt of BrewDog and Alexander Solomou of TheLADBible Group.

The #GoDo Entrepreneur of the Year award will be presented to the best entrepreneur who leads the way for their business – an individual who is all about getting things done and leading the charge! The award will be presented to the entrepreneur that showcases an outstanding ability to take action and be strong in their leadership, has a hunger for opportunity and a growth mindset where being challenged and finding solutions to various problems and challenges is second nature.

Speaking of the awards, Francesca James, creator of the GBE Awards said: “We have been inundated with some incredible entries this year, and all shortlisted applicants should be extremely proud of themselves! This year has seen a record number of entrants and we’ve been absolutely blown away by the strength and diversity of applications.”

“We cannot wait to celebrate entrepreneurship across Great Britain with them, and put a spotlight on the incredible talent within the British entrepreneur ecosystem.”

Gordon Merrylees, Head of Entrepreneurship at NatWest said: “I want to thank all of the entrepreneurs who entered this year and congratulate those who have been shortlisted, I look forward to seeing them at the regional finals.”

“It is clear that entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well and NatWest is thrilled to be able to support these awards to celebrate success with the businesses that are the lifeblood of the UK Economy as they start, scale and succeed.”

The winners of each category will be announced at the Gala Final taking place on the 1st November in Cardiff and Denise flies to Dubai at the end of November to give her talk for The Big 5 Dubai.
