Purpol Marketing Celebrates Mentoring Success at the House of Lords with Small Business Britain

What a fantastic day at the House of Lords, where we celebrated the achievements of the latest group from Small Business Britain’s Small & Mighty programme. It was great for Purpol Marketing to be a part of it!

Our founder, Denise O’Leary MBE, was proud to be a mentor for the programme, helping dedicated small business owners grow and succeed. The day was full of networking, inspiring talks, and joyful moments—there were even a few happy tears during an emotional speech from mentee Laura Rawlings about how mentoring has impacted her business journey.

The Small & Mighty programme, created by Small Business Britain, is a six-week, fully funded course that helps small businesses build confidence, develop skills, and grow in a sustainable way. It’s aimed at supporting entrepreneurs at a key time in their business, and the energy and talent on display at the celebration showed just how much this programme means to everyone involved.

No celebration is complete without cake, especially since it was Small Business Britain’s birthday! In true Purpol fashion, there was even a crown involved. Our friend, the talented Natalie Haverstock (or Miss Ballooniverse), surprised Denise with a customised “Purpol Crown,” which was a fun twist on the tiara she had asked for!

It was inspiring to connect with the broader small business community, including programme partners like Xero, ARU Peterborough, and supportive faces like Michelle Ovens CBE and Karen Campbell, all working together to champion the strengths of UK small businesses.

At Purpol, we’re proud to be involved with programmes like Small & Mighty, which fits perfectly with our goal to support small and medium-sized businesses through marketing, mentoring, and business assistance.
