When asked about her appointment as an accredited coach, Denise said: ‘I am thrilled to have been appointed a GAINS Quality Assured Business Coach! Having had a corporate career and now running my own business, I understand all of the challenges that running an SME throws at you, I wanted to get involved with the GAINS programme to impart some of the knowledge and insight I have gained over the years. I’m excited to have the opportunity be a part of a programme that will see new businesses grow to their full potential and guide them through what is a tough but very exciting process!’
The GAINS programme is a newly launched package of support, run by the University of Gloucestershire and supported by the European Regional Development Fund. It has been created specifically to help local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with high growth potential and ambition to grow and get to the next level in terms of their turnover, job creation and new products and services. The support offered to SMEs includes four days of high-quality coaching, an in-depth business plan, a series of masterclasses that tackle high-growth SME needs and inclusion within a Gloucestershire-specific, high-growth networking group. Successful applicants for the programme receive all of this support at a significantly discounted rate in order to allow any business that has the capability to grow, the opportunity to realise their full potential.
Geraldine McCullagh, GAINS Project Managers says “we’ve now created a pool of high quality business coaches, with a consistent record of making a real difference to the businesses they have worked with, who are interested in taking a bespoke approach to get to the heart of any barriers to growth in the businesses they work with and who are excited by the challenge of delivering operational change to increase productivity in the county’s SMEs”
The funding for the GAINS programme will run until December 2019 but is limited to just 220 Gloucestershire businesses. To be accepted onto the GAINS scheme, your business must meet certain criteria, which includes being based in the area covered by GFirst LEP, reflect the definition of ‘high growth’, and be able to complete the course within six months. Due to the limited number of spaces available, it is advisable to apply early. For more information contact the project at .
